White rice
Fiber - 2.0
GI - 81
Brown rice
Fiber - 5.5
GI - 79
For me personally - I eat so much spinach and sometimes broccoli I don't feel I have to worry about the difference in fiber between white and brown.
That said - Yams, although the GI is higher are also high in fiber.
Yams (1 med)
Fiber - 6.8
GI - 156
I don't think one can say ONE carb is best without looking at the total package one's diet and current goals.
FYI - a yam is not 156 in the gi rating lol..........re-check your source.
