Whats jail really like?

True. But then they can sit in the back of the car until a canine comes and sniffs the entire vehicle. Then they can rip it apart as much as they want.

Really. Are you certain? I am almost sure that without anything in "plain view", a warrant, proable cause, your permission police are not allowed to just search or enter your vehicle.

I am positive, if they bring a canine and it hits on a smell, they will tear that car apart b/c of it. The staters do that on known drug routes every day of the year.

Cops can do anything outside your car. You have no right to tell a dog to buzz off. Kinda like how after 9/11, they had dogs everywhere around the city sniffin' every car going onto bridges sniffin' for explosives.

Just mind your business and dont let anyone intimidate you no matter how big they are. Also dont join any gangs. You dont need that shit. You go in by yourself and you leave by yourself.
I hope you have a girl to write you letters everyday cause it sucks to see everyone else get mail when you dont.
Speaking from experience.

ya, this is a new law they just had past a couple weeks ago. cops dont need suspicion or probable cause anymore to have the dogs sniff your car.

bush is also trying to pass a law that would grant the US the right to have someone locked up for life without a trial.

i cant afford any good lawyer..i have to use the DA..and my parents wont help me pay for any lawyer..so the DA is the best I can do....i was hoping i could make a deal with the DA that if i joined the marines they would just put me on probabation or something..since i was planning on joining the marines anyway.......the only thing going my way so far is that it doesnt look like the federal govt is going to prosecute me..its just going to be state..at least for now

I tried to join the military when I was in a tight spot like that once. This was after Sept. 11 too. The DA said she wouldn't let me join the military instead of the punishment I got, because they're "letting anyone join nowadays." ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME! The DA would rather me sit in jail than fight for our country....and possibly die???? While I was in court, I saw a guy get sentenced to 10 years for manufacturing crystal and then right after him they gave a guy 8 months for beating up and raping a girl. What a fucking joke! I would think a violent crime against another human would get more time than a guy manufacturing/selling drugs! I talked to my lawyer after watching these 2 guys get sentenced and he said "that's the war on drugs for ya." The drug laws in this country are just FUCKED UP!

I would strongly suggest a plea bargin. Two pounds of weed. I don't know the details, but I'm going to guess that you had it portioned off. If that is the case, "fighting it" would only see you serving more time. You don't attempt to fight it unless you have a good chance of winning, or an ace up your sleeve. Ask your lawyer about that one. If you're fighting it (if he's fighting it for you), what exactly is your defense going to be?

Your goal should be to do whatever steps necessary to reduce time spent. Whether military, community service, whatever. Anything it takes to get the minimum time.

Whether or not anyone agrees with or likes the drug laws in our country, it takes a far stretch of the imagination to argue moderate consequences for two pounds of marijuana. That's not small-time dealing or personal use. The oxys just add insult to injury.

Regardless, he needs to concentrate on his present and pending future situation.

Is there any way you can take out loans (or something) in order to get the best attorney possible?
