What is the NO 1 tip you could give someone regarding diet?

Don't be too hard on your self if you get fed up and binge one night. Say to your self, "tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start" This has helped me tremendously.

Eat more smaller frequent meals, each including a lean protein source.

That and don't eat as much sugar. When I stopped eating sugar, I didn't find myself craving food as much.

No 1. Tip reguarding diet:
Besides what everyone already said,
You need to find what combinations of carbs, protein and fats work for you in terms of cutting and bulking.

I am slowly learning that for bulking up, 40/30/30 works really well for me. For cutting, less fat and more protien and LOTS of cardio that also involves using my muscles to a greater degree than running. Aka I play lacrosse. Because I am an ecto-mesomorph, that seems to work better.

if ur meal doesnt' haev protein in it, why are you eating it. and no toppings on a pizza dont count fatty

I really do like this one. IT seems to be the most down to earth and easiest to consider tip.
All these tips are great! KEep'em coming if you all have some more!

Plan Ahead: Think about what you're going to eat the day before. Prepare it if you have the time and motivation. But definitely at least think it over.

Be Prepared: Keep healthy snacks with you as much as possible so if 'something comes up' or you lose track of time and find yourself very hungry and also short on time you aren't forced to eat something terrible. Save your cheating for times when you are going crazy with a craving, or special occasions.

Check It Out: NEVER make assumptions about the nutrional contents of food, even natural food. It's easy to sabotage yourself unknowingly if you don't know exactly what you're putting in your body.

There's 3, oh well.

HEALTHY FOOD DOES NOT HAVE TO TASTE BLAND, BAD OR BE HARD TO PREPARE!!!!

I "redo" unhealthy recipes all the time to make them healthy.

When you are really serious about dieting, you must always know what your next meal will be. Like posted earlier, when you have no food prepared and your starving, your in trouble. Everything looks good and you fool yourself and say that its better than nothing. So get on a shopping and cooking routine is key.

this is obviously for the newbies, but
NO SOFT DRINKS UNLESS THEY ARE DIET!!! otherwise you are pouring raw sugar down your throat. same with sweet tea and lemonade and shit like that. tastes great but is way too much sugar.
