What exactly is bad about hamburgers?

Why are hamburgers bad? Because these producers will add there some bad ingredients, or it is about the combination of meat and bread? I really like to make my own hamburgers, with fresh meat, etc, but wonder if it is ok to eat those....
 
A well made, good quality hamburger is perfectly fine to eat. Bread isn't the best carbohydrate choice because it is very inflammatory in the body and causes bloating in most people but even then, a good quality home made burger is a perfectly fine meal to eat.

The problem with most 'commercial' store bought hamburgers is that they are full of nitrates, fat, preservatives and low quality meat. Most store bought burgers are full of bread crumbs as a filler and use the absolute cheapest and fattiest ground beef available. Look at the macronutrients of most burger patties bought at the grocery store and most have more fat and carbs then protein. Add in white bread and a processed cheese and it's a pretty sure way to get fat.

A homemade burger made from good quality extra lean ground beef, a hearty whole grain bread and maybe some lettuce and tomato slices is a completely different story.
 
I absolutely agree with @muskate. When taken separately, all those ingredients are pretty much fine to take, with the exception of bread. Therefore, if it is well cooked with good quality ingredients, there is nothing really bad about hamburgers. Personally, I never eat hamburgers from places like McDonalds and Burger King - I always do hamburgers of my own - they taste damn great, and it is good to know that I have used only the best ingredients for them.
