It seems a shame to throw them out. (You can't get egg whites in a bottle here in the UK). I could make my hubbie a yolk omelette for breakfast, but force-feeding him cholesterol on a daily basis may not be a good idea...

I toss em. I've gotten over feeling bad about that sorta thing a while ago.

Example - if I decide to cheat a bit by having, say, a bagel or granola bar. If I open the granola bar, I know I'll be tempted to eat the whole thing, so I immediately rip off about half & TOSS IT. Then proceed to eat my half a granola bar.

Better to waste food & put it in the trash than to have it end up on my hips. Call me vain. ;)

Two of the yolks i eat each day. The other 40 or so yolks each day are put on the sink drain. The yolks ending up on my hips is not something to worry over....ending up in my coronary ateries, yes!

Wouldnt the yolks do good for the hair as well? Anyone use them for that?

My lady doc says if you can stand the kcalories, and unless you already have elevated cholesterol and skewed triglycerides, just go ahead and eat them.

She says there is recent research showing little connection between dietary cholesterol and blood levels in NORMAL people.

But, I find that if I am eating 18 or more eggs a day, then it is cheaper to buy an egg-white only substitute.
