What do I do now? NEED TRAINING ADVICE?

My wife and I had a new baby seven months ago. Before then I had a pretty good training program going for a few years.
But for the last seven months I haven't slept much, eaten anything I could get my hands on and trained maybe once a month.
I need a quick fix routine because I'm sure my body is still accustomed to the routine I was last using so it won't repond as quickly, but I need to get back in shape fast. Any advice?
(By the way I was never real big, just pretty fit. now I have a little gut)

First, there is no "QUICK FIX"(although some meth heads may argue the losing weight part) to getting in shape,(even enhancers take time) just blood sweat and tears(to steal a phrase)and the rewards from all of the above.

I would just start the diet and cardio back up, do lighter weight higher reps( only a couple exercise each bodypart) for a couple of weeks til your body reajusts , then go from there.....try to do too much when your body isn't in the mode anymore by trying for a quick fix is a good way to do damage to your body. It takes time......diet....cardio....and maximum (using common sense)effort.

And after 7 months off, yes your body will get it's muscle memory back, just don't expect it overnight.

good luck:)

Perfectly said. That is exactly the problem. About 3 years ago when i finished school and starting into the real world i stopped training completely after working out and eating properly for 5 years. Before stopping i was 5'10" 195lbs 10%BF. Once i started up again after a 1 year layoff i was 5'10" 168lbs 20%BF.

Well the minute i decided to go back i told myself i would do what i did previously. I started by working out 3 times a week, (mon, wed, fri), problem was i over exerted myself. I couldnt handle much weight, my muscles fatigued very easily and i was finding myself sore for 4-5 days sometimes. All i have to say is take it slowly, suppliment properly, eat properly and things will even be better than before because you now have some motivation. I'm now back up to 198lbs with 12%BF. Good luck.

Goal setting.....

Does anyone here find it easier to stick to their lifting regiment when they set goal for themself????? I was wondering if this true because I have just decided on what goals to achieve about 3-4 weeks ago, and it seems with these gaols in mind I'm reaching them faster than i thought.
Example I weighed 192lbs after thanksgiving @15%bf, and workouts were far below par due to school and work. Now I weigh 184 @11%bf and have gone up 15lbs onmost compound movements and abou 10lbs on isolated except for squats I went up 60lbs. I know a lot of this is due to muscle memory, but I think much of it is also due to goal setting, any thoughts?????

Damn it I thought I put a new thread up any mods out there can you put my last post before this one up as a thread. sorry for the inconvenience
