This maybe a totally stupid question, and i'm sorry for asking, but i read a post about how wearing a shirt can increase your benchpress by 10%... How come wearing a shirt would affect your benchpress, and why?
The shirt is very tight and made of thick material. It is also cut so that the shirt holds your arms in front of you. When you lower the weight the material across your chest has to stretch so it resists the lowering of the weight. It also tries to contract back to its original shape so that gives you some help at the bottom of the lift.
Somebody else mightbe able to explain this better
