I really wish I could post you links to some stuff I read on squatting that helped me as well. But basically, you want to be able to sink your ass to the ground while keeping your feet facing forward, shoulder width apart. To do this, you need to be able to spread your knees outward, past your feet. Once I could do that, my back problems went away. Then your torso can remain locked in, alost in the same position as if you were standing with the bar resting on your back. Your ass, hips, and knees are what's doing all the moving, but you have to keep your core tight
