Video I took riding....was a little late to school....

I would say this guy demonstrated he was riding within his limits...BUT, what's to stop someone from suddenly changing lanes while he's slipping by them? Would he be quick enough to avoid being hit? Maybe. Does he increase his risk of crashing/being hurt, etc. by doing these stunts and high speed shenanigans? Yes, he does. Even if it is within his limits...because you never know what someone else is going to do, and it's a lot harder to avoid hitting someone who pulls out in front of you when you're going 150 vs. 50.

It's not the bike necessarily, you're right. If you have a sportbike and ride it in a chill manner, you're decreasing the factors that could contribute to an accident. Conversely, if you have a cruiser and ride in an outrageous manner, you're increasing the factors that could contribute to an accident.

Now, having said that...I've ridden both sportbikes and cruisers, and I have to say that being on a bike you know can go 170mph and handles like a dream merely makes me want to experience the adrenaline that comes with pushing the bike's (and my) limits. Being on the cruiser however, puts me in a different mood. It's laid back, chill, just havin a good time cruisin maing!

Good answer.

Yeah... Eh, he might be within his limits, but at those speeds/traffic anything can go wrong and he would be dead. Maybe I should have mentioned "ride smart" as well... Not too many sportbike riders I know ride like this guy anyways, maybe to an extent lol.

But sure, I understand your point.

Bad thing about cruisers is that they are too slow and handle like shit!

Yeah, but do you really need them to handle great when you're not going 150??? :)

Not at 150..

What about emergency situations? You would be screwed on a cruiser.(Street legal speeds)

Now this is true as shit gets!!!
I don't have a street bike now but it's the same no matter what wheels are under me.

Eh, I dunno. I've had a few close calls on a cruiser, and while I could've done better on a performance bike, I managed to avoid any accidents. I've also managed to avoid accidents on a sportbike too. I've been very lucky on a number of occasions.

I don't have either now though. :) I'd consider getting a cruiser though...just fits me better. I have no interest in going 150 on a bike anymore. The older you get the more you consider your own mortality.

He'll die on that bike one of these days. Won't be so cool then.

I think it's what he would want though.

I always use this saying "Risk vs. Reward" I live by that these days after my car crash.
