training legs before a comp???

I heard that your not supposed to train your legs before a competition.

Is this correct?? If it is how long before the comp do you cut legs out of your program???

I also heard that in the run in to the program you should start doing full body workouts just 2 exercises per bodypart. Is this correct??

Bro, everyone does it different. The reason for not training legs is that they tend to hold water for a while after being trained. Conventional theory is don't train them for a week. I always made my last leg day the saturday one week before the show. Regarding total body workouts, be very careful here. Dramatic shifts in training for a competition are always a mistake in my opinion. If you have done it right in terms of taking bodyfat off slowly, and keeping your calories up to remain hard & full, while your strength will be down, it shouldn't be down dramatically. Thus, you should be able to continue with full, hard workouts just about all the way up to the show. If you can't do this, something has gone wrong and your physic will show it. I wouldn't change anything drastically.

Dude don't train legs for thw 2 weeks prior to the show....they will totally recover and become very crisp and striated, givin that your pre-contest dieting is dialed in...Good luck

i am going with NJExtreme here and 2 weeks has worked better for me than 1 week, if you give them 2 weeks off they will be crisper-josh

Mike Francois tells me to not train legs any less than 10 days out from a show. If the show is on Saturday, you can do total body workouts on Wednesday and Thursday, with the exception of legs. And do only about 3 sets per bodypart, just enough to get a pump. The workout should last 15-20 minutes. That's what Mike instructed me to do.
