Training Ground Zero

So back in the day I used to cycle on and off and be a pretty big boy.

Life Happened.

My major muscle groups are still decent. Chest has atrophied but overall I still have my muscle tissue.

43 years old and my overall Test count was 388.
Im in good shape but, I'm sporting a gut after doing P90X for 130 days doing the diet to a tee. I have gains, and I lost weight but no where near what I felt I should have so I went to the doc!

Doc prescribed me testosterone cypionate
Started me off at a conservative 200mg per MONTH :(
I believe he will step me up to every 2 weeks after the 2nd injection

Now, I am back in the gym and am starting a decent training regimin.

I also went ahead and purchased some omnadren to take (AFTER) the 90 days of testosterone cypionate the doctor has prescribed me.

I do not want to be a huge guy again. I am 43 and would really just like to be back in -34" jeans and not feel bad about pulling the shirt off at the beach anymore.

Sorry to give you my diary but,
Just looking for direction
Currently doing, running, cardio, and now weight training.

My question is:
I have seen many sites now promoting that each muscle group should rest for 7 days so that they are not overtrained. This is NOT how I used to train and it seems way to easy but, I know education, knowledge has come a long way in the past 20 years so if you would please give me a few pointers/opinions on training while on test.

I want maximum gains and I want to do it smart.

My diet for the last 7 days has measured up about 40/30/30 the 40 being protein at about 200g per day

I'm open to suggestions
My goals are
Lose the gut
Cut the bodyfat
Increase muscle
Get back to "the" shape and not be "A" shape anymore. Im too young to be rocking the gut when I dont eat that badly or drink beer!

One last thing, dont send me over the radical edge. I am not looking to go off the charts radical..

wow what a lot of useful advice people give on here! So glad I took time to write that post in attempt to get dialed in! FO

Just do a good well known training regimine.. Sl 5x5 something like that. Keep your calories high with only good carbs. Keep protein at your bw or more. Keep fats pretty low

Hey bro. First off CONGRATS on not wanting to just be a shape any longer.

I love the SL 5x5 and I promote the hell out of it on here. The reason is that it dam well works for just about everyone.
So here is what I suggest for you.
First get an independant blood test done. There are labs all over the place that do them pretty reasonably. At the bare minimum you need to know your Free Test, Cortisol, Cholesterol and Estro.
I would bet that your test is low, and your cortisol and estro are elevated.
That means you need Test injections but one a month is a joke. You need to do em weekly so that you stay at an equilibrium.
Next, go here and read this. Then read it again.
StrongLifts 5x5: Ultimate Strength & Muscle Building Program | StrongLifts.com
Next, do the program exactly as it is written. Dont add and dont subtract anything for your first round. When you do it a second time then we can change it a little bit for you if you feel the need.
Cardio.
You wanna loose the gut so you wanna do cardio.
Do 20-40 mins post workout and also do 45 mins on in-between days preferably low impact. We aint no kids anymore...

Now with a decent diet and keeping your protein the same as above you should see some pretty fast improvements.
Good luck bro and it would be gr8 if you kept a log on here of your workouts and diet.
Regards man.
