you know what saddens me?
at the 40 year or so point of studying history, primarily military history (that's where the shit hits the fan)
you can group the leading figures into a few groups, despite the vast genentic diversity
+/- this or that 'sideshow' behavior
but 85% of the time they're ego maniacs or megolomaniacs
you can kick around in the dirt and argue side issues such as he was a great military thinker, but lacked boldness
blah, blah
Hitler was an even fool that wanted to conquer the world
but Eisenhower was a vindictive fellow who cheated on his wife in front of the world
and Churchill was a drunk who throughout his lifetime stated made many formal comments that negroes were dogs or buffalos or wildebeasts
and I'm Itzhak Stern
