Who is this guy?

He stood as a candidate for Congress twice, in 1843 without suceess, but in 1847 with success, and he retained his seat until 1849. His only notable action in Congress was his introduction of an anti-slavery bill which failed 1849. He entered into partnership with Herndon (1845) and practised law until 1854. In this year he was made famous by his speech at Peoria, in which he attacked the extension of slavery to to the N.W territories. Emboldened by this success, he stood for senatorship but failed: at his second attempt (1858) he was again defeated. Two years later he was triumphantly elected President.

He is Abraham Lincon. Lots of failure in his story...till the end. NEVER GIVE UP!
