Take a look at my variation of Old School Workout

aite i say get rid of deadlift on wednesday and add in deadlift lockouts on friday. Add in military press or push press or some type of overhead lift on monday (you have no overhead lifts). Take out skull crushers and replace them with reverse grip bench. 2 days of low rep heavy squats is gonna burn u out, either just eliminate one squat day or do one day 1 set of 20 reps and the other low reps. Get rid of shrugs add in farmers walks u will get a lot bigger traps that way. Also on day 3 add in cleans.

These are just my personal suggestions

Deadlifts - 1 set of 20
Bench - 5 sets of 5
Squats - 1 set of 20
Weighted Pull Ups - 5 sets of 5
Barbell Rows - 5 sets of 5
Reverse Lat pull - 5 sets of 5
Seated Calf Raise - 4 sets of 20

Wednesday
DB Shoulder Press - 5 sets of 5
Behind The Neck Press - 3 sets of 5
Dips - 5 sets of 5
Reverse Grip Bench - 5 sets of 5
Farmers Walk

Friday
Barbell Curls - 5 sets of 5
Incline DB Curl - 5 sets of 8
Incline DB Press 5 sets of 5
Squats - 5 sets of 5
Standing Calf Raise - 4 sets of 20
Deadlifts -1 set of 20

DO 5x5 one week and alternate them with the 20 reps set.

Drop either the 20 reps deads or squats...better yet alternate therm on a weekly basis.

Drop the 20' s on Friday altogether

Endpoint - what seems to be your problem. YOu sound like you have your thongs in a wad over something.


Why don't you come up with a program and get 20 people to try it and post results.

till then - fuck off.

old school routines did not do any bench work if any at all, they focused primarily on overhead presses, they did continentals, clean and jerks, two dumbell clean and presses, snatches, one arm deadlifts, one arm snatch and clean, and they focused more on lifting awkward objects such as barrels etc for more functional strength. Oh yea and they focused a lot on grip. For example an old school person would not do incline db curls, nor reverse lat pulldowns , nor shrugs nor skull crushers. Old school lifters would have a lot more olympic lifts in there instead.

Bench 5 sets of 1-5
Clean & press 5 sets of 5
Close grip bench 5 of 5
static holds 2 sets of max time

Wednesday

Shoulder Press - 5 sets of 5
Barbell Rows - 5 sets of 5
Deadlifts - 5 sets of 10
Reverse Lat pull - 5 sets of 5
Barbell curls - 5 sets of 5


Friday

Cleans - 5 sets of 5
Squats - 5 sets of 5
Bench - 5 sets of 5 (lighter than monday! dont go total failure)
Shrugs - 5 sets of 5
Claf raise - 3 sets of 20


I would do somethign like this above, the one you had aint too hot, no offense pal.....try the above or some thign similer, but keep cleans & bench in reps i gave. You had too many exercies each day, cut volume if you want mass, simple...lift heavy, short and eat.

the workout where he said modified version of the program. my post was in reference to what he originally posted, not ur program. if u look at my post it was after his modified version. thats what i was looking at and thats what i was commenting on because he asked for suggestions on the program he modified. So look at the post, after i gave suggestions on his workout he changed it to the suggestions i made. Ur reading the posts backwards i think
