Stupid Injury

Ingram

New member
Somehow I got talked into Arm wrestling some dude at a party last weekend. I never arm wrestle because I end up injurying myself everytime, I even told the guy this. Sure enough the dude kept yapping so stupid old me ended up doing it. (and Yes, I won!)

But now my forearm is shot, I can barely grab shit or hold a bar. I've been iceing it and popping advill like crazy. Can anyone suggest anything else to help speed up the healing?

I couldn't even train chest the other day it hurt so bad. I couldn't even imagian doing back or arms.

Sucks bro. Is it your wrist at all or just your forearm?Does it feel like the outside of your forearm?

At least you won:)

in track i'd always mess up things in my forearms. is it on the bottom or top, if your hand is resting on a table?

if it's bottom, hold your hand out straight as to signal somebody to 'stop'. push back on your fingers so your fingers are going backwards towards your shoulders. should stretch it out.

get a bucket of hot/warm water and soak your entire hand and forearm at intervals

these things helped me with minor forearm tweaks. as with any injury, get it checked out if possible if its not better in 2 weeks or so

Souldn't have arm wrestled him no matter what.

Yup, it's even worse knowing that I allways hurt myself doing it too.

The pain feels like the classic forearm pain some people get doing curls using a supinated grip. It runs allmost the full length of my arm, I feel it from the wrist to above the elbow.

I've done the exact stupid thing. Twice. (Yeah, I won both times, too.) Fucked up my elbow both times.

The only thing the helped was time. It was a good 2-3 months before I could lift like I did before. But, I was lifting fairly normally after 3-4 weeks. I did keep icy hot on it, and used elbow sleeves when lifting as well.

Good luck on your recovery, Ingram.

How would someone train to arm wrestle anway? Just wondering - don't they have "professional" arm wrestling?

It is probably a severe strain and will take time to recover. . .a friend of mine did this 5 years ago and had pain for a while.

Give yourself plenty of rest and focus on leg training.

Levering with a sledge hammer, bending steel, plate curls and other wrist grip work is primary.
