The Bluegrass Strongman Challenge isn't too far from KC...you should come by. If not to compete...to watch and cheer everyone on for the day. You could probably learn a lot just by watching and talking to people...I always do.

Guys ,
This is really all I did to improve on the stones. These simple changes made a huge difference..(maybe they just worked for me..I dunno)
1.Bring my feet in closer.B fold noticed that I was using a very wide sumo stance on the stones at the last training day.Now I try to make it so my calves are touching the stone
2.This goes along with bringing my legs in more.I try to use my legs more to get the initial break off the ground. Before I was using alot of back, and really wrapping my arms around the stones(to an extent I still have to do this on the heavier stones)When I squat down to lift the stones,to me it now feels like Im keeping my back a little more upright, and doing sort of a squat goodmorning, instead of just doing a hyper extension sort of movement, like it looks like some guys do.
3.Your shirt can make a difference. At the contest I did in Illinois in May,I missed the 300 stones, because it kept rolling after I lapped it,and pulling down at my shirt. This past weekend,I pulled down on the front of my shirt, after I put the rehband belt on,to keep the stone from being able to stretch it down as much.Going shirtless,or wearing a shirt with less stretchable material would probably be better.
Again...maybe this stuff just worked for me...taking advantage of the long arms.

Debaser...

You should definately stop by. Like B said, if not to compete, to watch, learn and put faces to these strange screen names....:)

I was told that Brad Pitt was either the 3rd or 4th best lightweight strongman in St. Louis alone... :)

He is very solid. No weak events... I've seen him beaten in the 200's a few times and in Boston in 2002 I think he placed 5th in the under 200 pound weight class.
