Steve Jobs Regretted Using Alternative Medicine; Delayed Treatment

He took pride in being the best and wanted everyone to know it. Seems like he was overly harsh though. He was like that with all his competition though, he called the droid a compete rip off of the iphone and that it wouldn't even exist without his creation. Yeah he may sound like a dick, but the guy was rarely wrong.
 
Smart guy but I guess he was dumb in other areas. I'm still ticked he used his money & influence to steal a liver from someone who could've really used it ton his 1-2 year pancreatic cancer self. He proved his dickness when he did that and no one got in trouble for it.

Let's see any other pancreatic cancer patient get a liver.

No. Shoudl OJ get out of jail if he donates $50M to inner-city schools and cancer patients?

If i'm waiting for an organ, i dont' want rich people to use their money to get organs. Me being dead does nothing to me. However, the rich & famous get treated differently in this country (and others) so society accepts it. How he got a liver in his dire condition is something we'll never knoew. Doubt any politician wants to 'investigate' considering how popular Jobs legacy is.

I'll have to read the biography cause it seems like he learned nothing from his illness. It sounds like he was a major conceited self absorbed dick throughout the whole thing. Of course herbs and spices aren't going to heal you by themselves,there is no magic pill not in alternative nor in mainstream medicine. There are people who have utterly cured themselves of cancer without any mainstream medicine. When you read what the went through though it isn't some petulent story of going around paying this person or that person to "heal me". They changed who they were....obviously jobs didn't get that lesson if he was as that short little excerpt portrayed him. People have been writing about what an asshole that guy was for years, one of the biggest.

So even if a rich person using their money to get to an organ significantly increases the overall number of organ transplants (including to those who do not use their money), you'd be against it?
 
Don't blame his death on alternative medicine. He pussed out at the idea of surgery. Our immune system is only capable of doing so much. He probably could have had the tumor removed and done follow up with alternative medicine and might have been just fine. My chiropractor is just about the most hard core alternative medicine person I know but when he had bladder cancer he still had the tumor removed surgically. He chose not to do after care in terms of chemo or radiation, which is also considered alternative.

Like you people keep telling me, you make a decision, you go the course and accept the consequences. You don't like the outcome, oh well. Don't go throwing the baby out with the bathwater (my experience with real estate ownership is a good example).

Put it this way, if I turned up with a lump or something somewhere I'd probably have the lump chopped out but pass on the poison.

There are good, effective alternative medicine practitioners and snake oil salesmen (just like there are good conventional doctors and and bad ones). From what I've read about his cancer, and from what I know of good alternative medicine docs, he was probably told to get the surgery and then come back for follow up, and kept searching until he found one that gave him the answer he wanted to hear.
 
I may regret commenting here, but will give it a shot. I'm a Naturopath that believes totally in natural healing. I healed myself from lupus and lyme disease only using natural methods. Now having said this, I also very much believe in allopathic medicine. Not exclusively, but I believe both work well together.
Herbs don't cure as much as chemo will not cure. Both just give the body a fighting chance. If the patient does not work with the "regime", whether it be holistic or allopathic, they will not heal or be cured.
I agree with Red, Steve Jobs was a self absorbed, angry man! Ask any Oncologist in any cancer ward and they will tell you, only those with positive attitudes and the WILL to change will heal from disease.
I believe no matter what form of treatment he chose, he would not have survived since he didn't have the attitude to match.

Those that dis alternative healing don't understand the concept at all.
This is my business and what I believe in because allopathic dr's drugged me up and my illness got worse. It's when I took control of my mind, body and spirit and really looked a the cause of my illness, is when I got well.

I'm scientific-minded, and I think there are times when regular medicine/surgery is the answer, and other times when it's not. In Jobs' case, I have no idea what he did & didn't do, and what his feelings were about it (I don't always believe news items about this stuff). I personally know a couple of people who have used various non-traditional routines to "cure" illnesses, including a bad cancer, but it could also be just plain old luck. Who knows... I know I don't.

As far as "rich people" getting bumped up on donor lists, I strongly doubt it. But if you don't have to fart around with medical insurance, you will be treated right away, and you will pay less than the people with insurance sometimes. It also might not be as much rich or poor, it might be who you know and who they know, and phone calls made.

Apple doesn't even offer dividends to its investors. I doubt its leader would've offered livers lol. That's one big difference between Jobs and Gates. Gates is far more charitable.

I was thinking more along the lines of procedure cost. That's got to be an expensive ordeal. I did a little searching on organ transplants and it surprised me there isn't a way to sell an organ. That seems crazy at first, but I wonder if the end justifies the means.

holy shit blu, i was meaning to ask you how you were doing with the lyme disease. Didn't know you had lupus as well...holy shit. Pm sometime about how you went about doing it, my mother has had lupus her whole life.

By the way lyme disease is supposed be around for life so if you're not testing for it anymore you are in very select company indeed.

I believe the lupus was caused by the lyme. Untreated lyme mimics many other illnesses such as MS, ALS, Parkinson, etc.

I've not been tested again for lyme since most testing has a 96% failure rate. It's mostly a clinic diagnosis. Since I have very few symptoms, I consider myself "cured" but take it day by day. I still have some bad days, but they are so few now.
My diet is really clean and I lift weights 4 days a week and have been for months and months, This helps!
I'll be in TO for a conference soon, I'll let you know and we can hook up!

I don't know much about his liver thing, and I don't blame him for using his money try to save himself (who wouldn't?) but I agree, when it comes to life and death everyone should be equal in these things and one shouldn't get further up the list just because of materialistic things which have no meaning like fame or money.

acnetame works and it doesn't come with the side effects of accutane. IT WORKS!! in fact I just bought a 2nd bottle of it after trying it out and I am convinced. i cant speak for every natural product out there but the products at NTBM are not snake oil, THEY WORK!! and they are all natural.

yes there are many supp companies that rip people off but we do not at NTBM.. you should try them out yourself and you will be a believer.

pick up a bottle of N2Stim and try it out for 2 weeks, the stuff will shred you up.

I don't think it's dumb as much as ego like I can beat this, I have done XYZ of course I can cure my cancer. The same thing that made him succesful hurt him the dreamer that thinks anything is possible,

I am for a combo approach traditional and natural. I am sure that sounds silly but I think a lot of diseases a quicker recovery can be helped by making diet changes and adding in some natural herbs etc.

Not always. I had lyme disease when I was ten and was clear of it within a month of diagnosis. I think how fast you catch it makes a difference. I had a former nurse for a mom who knew the signs.

Big Pharma is not the answer to every problem, many times it will make things worse.
When it comes to the kind of cancer he had I would have elected for surgery.
