I always hear guys talking about their high school and college athletic days...what about us ladies. I read a lot of post mentioning playing sports as a start to your life in fitness.

I was a tennis player in high school. I was captain of the tennis team my senior year. In college I was on the dance team for the football and basketball games for two years. I believe this foundation of being athletic at a young age has helped me be healthy and active today. (at the young age of 43).

Please share your fitness/athletic background.

I was captain of my high school varsity volleyball and softball teams all 4 years. Played softball in college until I was injured. Taught me a lot of discipline! Gave me the drive to keep me in shape after I was finished.

Oooohhh... good idea!

I was always up to something! I played baseball for 15 years, and basketball for 13. When I was finished school, I did a little BJJ, Muay Thai and K-box :)

I agree with you Rebecca, having an athletic background certainly helped in making healthly choices and staying active :
)
 
track football and basketball in HS. wanted to play college football, instead played basketball, also trained with specwar teams and went through dive jump and ud schools.

For me it was figure skating (synchronized + speed skating) yoga and ballet (as helpers to skating)

I've stuck with yoga because it is so therapeutic.

Always wanted to play volleyball in school but I was too embarrassed because I thought I was no good at it!!
 
friends daughter is skater, kid has the balance of a cat...thats some difficult sport!
yoga...everytime I take a class im hurting for two days!

Yeah it is lol.. you gotta be really committed to it and it can get pretty expensive. I haven't done it professionally since I broke my ankles and messed up my tendons but my balance is still okay because of the yoga.
 
track (hurdles, long jump and high jump) , polo, dressage, basketball and lacrosse..all high school cept the dressage and polo which was from the time I was 7 or 8 until I was 17
