I think you underestimate his sense of humor:

I do see the humor of Palin as a cabinet secretary.

But that's the beauty of conservatives. When they get one that's a little bit kooky (Palin, Gingrich, Santorum), they get slowly pushed aside. When a liberal gets too kooky, they become Chairman of the DNC, speaker of the house, or head-up the justice department.

I agree that Libertarians tend to get looked at in crazy ways for their views. There's a politician in Missouri who wants to end the FBI, DEA, CIA , NSA , TSA etc. I'm sure he wont get many votes for that view. Personally it's high time that this end. The people need to support politicians who want limited government. The more we continue to support mainstream red and blue politicians , the more the bill of rights is being flushed down the crapper
