But the reality is, for him to go to that extent to come fight me means he would lose before a punch was even thrown. It must suck to spend all that time traveling, all that money on gas, and then have to be sent home shamed and embarrassed.

I don't age discriminate....dated a guy 13 years older, and another recently who was 6 years younger. That said, wtf is up with all the young dudes hitting on me lately? Just yesterday I had to be like "You do realize I'm eight years older than you??" with some cocky little kid in response to him asking me out (who did in fact know of our age difference and apparently didn't care). I'll date younger, but that's way too much.

Enjoy it while you can...a few years down the road, guys his age will look at you and be reminded of their mom :worried: When girls in their early 20s flirt it up with me, I just soak it in and enjoy it...because I had that 'wake-up' moment when a 19yo girl I know likened me to her dad last summer. It was like being kicked in the nuts :(

I've got a while before that happens. I still pass for 22/23 :)

I had the opposite experience last week. A 32 y/o guy was talking to me for a while and asked my age. When I told him he was visibly relieved and said, "That makes me feel so much better. I have a 19 year old sister and I was thinking you were around her age."

I will hang out with some one younger, but dating is a different story. I know I'm making a generalization here, but I think it would be difficult for a younger man to date a woman with two kids. I'm not sure someone younger would understand why I would have to take certain steps to shelter my children. And really what I'm going by is experiences and mistakes I've seen friends make.

Saying I appear younger than I am has nothing to do with how well I think of myself...it's based on the countless people who ask me if I moved her for school, or roll their eyes when I talk about college like it was a long time ago because they think it's only been a year or two, and so on.

6 years younger is generally too young too. That ex asked me out about six or seven times over the span of six months before I gave in and was like, "whatever, why not?" I never expected it to lead to anything, and I still think that was a rare situation. Plus most of his friends were closer to me in age than him, so it never felt like I was the creepy older lady hanging out with a bunch of college age kids lolol. I don't have a cut off, but I'd be really wary of trying to seriously date anyone more than two or three years younger than me.

It's entirely based on your physical appearance. They don't care if you have kids if you're hot, and have no intentions of hanging around after they smash so who gives a fuck. Not to mention a good parent is never letting their kids around some horny fuck, so the guy doesn't even have to interact with them.

That's obvious with 99% of them and the other 1% is just better at hiding it, IMO.

And you are so right about not bringing some horny fuck around my children, I absolutely agree with that. We have a very short time to raise our kids. Hell, I might have as little as five years left with my oldest son before he's off to college and building his own life. I'm not going to cause any undue stress by bringing men around. If I ever did it would be a man I loved and it would be a very slow transition.
