this diet is goood for people who just want to lose fat/weight and arent concerned with muscle loss. My mom does this every now and then and easily loses 10-15 lbs in a couple weeks. I would never do it as I cant afford to lose any muscle, but if was really overweight and just wanted to lose weight i would try this diet as the cabbage soup throughout the day keeps you feeeling pretty full .

I think it is pretty sad that mmuscle comes on here to say that this diet worked for him and gets knocked down for it and is called names. People grow up. Everyone is entitled their opinion but to be so hateful to someone for he was sharing his experience. This board is dedicated mostly to bodybuilding so I can see how a lot of people would think that it is dumb due to muscle loss but all he was doing was stating that it worked for him and letting it be known.
I think this diet is good for someone if they are into losing a good 7-11 pounds in a week. I do not think it promotes a healthy way to lose weight though as most of the weight loss would be due to eliminating waste, ie: water weight. It would probably be gained back pretty fast.
Muscle loss has to happen because this diet is essentially putting you into starvation mose. Yikes!
MMuscle, keep us posted on how you did with your weight afterwards.
 
You cant be weight lifting, cardio if you doing the cabbage soup diet :(
I would have the cabbage soup with my last meal of the day which will have to have protein

Basically he is trying for free advertising under the guise of being "helpful". He is a spammer, pure and simple.

Not for everyone. But if you are carrying a few pounds and want to slim up quickly, then you might want to give it a try. Its called the cabbage soup diet.

It relies on eating a lot, but taking in very few calories. Just worth making a note of if you like to eat and want to shed some pounds quickly.

The Cabbage Soup Recipe

6 large green onions
2 green peppers
2 cans of tomatoes (chopped or whole)
3 carrots
1 container of mushrooms (say about 10 oz)
1 bunch of celery
Half a head of cabbage
1 or two stock cubes (chicken or beef)
Seasonings - curry powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper or parsley (whatever you like to taste)

This diet contains virtually no fat or calories at all and is a good way of quickly sheding a bit of blubber so that you can see those muscles as they grow.

One thing that you should note is that this diet should only be undertaken for a week or so and preferably with some kind of vitamin, mineral and protein supplements. You may become light-headed at times whilst on this diet.
