Lestat

MVP
EF VIP
Good bro working out here:
T0_-1_714425.jpg

and yeah I know its geigh to take camera phone pics in the gym.. but me and my workout partner were the only two there and I figured I'd snap a pic for the good bros of EF.

I don't even really do cable cross overs, I had already done back and chest and was just messing around.

lol

lookin' swole dawg

I can see your friend in the mirror, he looks exactly like you, even his hairline lol
chicks often ask us at the beach... "how did you two find each other?"

I am 6'2" 200lbs now.. started around 170..

he is 6'3" 185lbs.. started around 155!

both hard gainers, both tall, both have a similar sense of humor, quick wit, but easy going (me moreso then him).

We lift right around the same.. I'd say I've got a 10-20% lead on him for a lot of lifts.

what the hell is wrong with using gloves??

Hopefully that explains the gloves too. :)

Looking lean bro...

Nothing is wrong with gloves, Elite_fry swore by them. ( :rainbow: ) It's when yo combine slightly gay gloves with totally :sawastea: Cable crossovers that I question your sexuality!

J/k man. Camera phones aren't allowed in my gym.

LOL! Gloves are for guys that don't like the feel of cold iron, and don't like calouses. It just comes off a bit fruity, especially when both guys have matching pairs. :rainbow:

But I still think your a good bro! :chomp:

here is why i wear gloves.

The dumbell grips at my gym are fucking ROUGH as hell, so rough they hurt.

When i am doing a set (I Incline DB press 85lb dumbells) I find myself more focused on the PAIN of my hands then actually pressing the iron... gloves give me one less thing to worry about.

My gym is private (company) so anything really goes.. camera phones..etc.

Well if you have shitty equipment in your gym, it's a bit more understandable. I feel the same way about lifting straps too. Too many guys use them for everything. I'm not opposed to their use, I just wait to use them until the lack of grip strength starts to interfere with my concentration on the exercise.

i didn't either.. i just have never worn gloves because i love callouses.. never use straps or belt either..

aww the bar is too rough for my pretty hands :bawling:

yep, now everytime you pop off I'll post a pic of gloves.
seriously though, fuck gloves, the db's are rough so you can grip better.
this is what you need

good wrist support is essential for pressing movements

You COMPLAIN about that?!?!?!?! Silly bodybuilders, lol.

I have the opposite problem in my "fitness centers", the DB's are bloody SMOOTH and you can't get a damned grip on 'em. Then they bitch when I load 'em up with chalk. Bastards.

LOL! It seems like all the gyms these days cry like bitches about chalk. Faggots! I have to use that liquid chalk now. It really confuses them though because there's no powder on the floor but I leave white chalk hand prints on all the handles! LOL!

I don't use gloves but I hate the calouses on my hand because they become so thick that when I'm holding heavy weight it feels like the calous is digging in my hand. Shrugging with 225 and holding that weight for about 1min is so painful on my hands.

Just tough it out, you'll get used to it. I do shrugs with 380 and have no problem.

I've ripped a calous completely off doing heavy pin pulls. So I surmise that calouses are self-limiting. Just lift heavier (ie. stop bodybuilding and powerlift, lol) and they'll all rip off.

They don't bleed that much, surprisingly. But the gym's towel was pretty ruined, lol. Stupid fitness center.

no straps? If so good shit.

STRAPS?!?!

LOL @ bodybuilders not being able to grip <400 with both hands without straps.

This obviously means bodybuilders are innately flawed and should start powerlifting immediatelyl.

:cow:

I didn't get any either. Mine makes yours look like a 3 year old did it. If that is what your dick looks like you've got problems. Us young kids get no respect.

bran987 said:
I agree with StickFigure, I do shrugs with 700 to 900 pounds for 15-20 minute holds and eventually your hands just mold into the shape of the bar grooves.

Holy shit, that's up there with B-Fold. I do static holds with 600+, but I sure couldn't shrug that shit.

Shit, wait, MINUTE holds, dammit. You were being sarcastic. Fuck me.

nice pic les!

P.S. I use gloves and put a towel on the bar for squating. I do bodybuilding. Not freak shows nor powerlifting.

I never said I coldn't hold it. I do DL singles with 495 strap free and my hands sweat bad.

I just felt that holding 350+ lbs for about a minute is good.

Dude your looking big and thats all that count's never mind the negative statement's . Im sure your woman like's the fact that you still have hand's that dont tear her skin of when you rub her down. Keep up the good work.

Wuss. Squatting with chains not only looks cool as hell, but gives us a lockout that would make your girlfriend jealous. Now, mind you, I realize that the previous comment makes no sense whatsoever, but since I already wrote it, I'll just post it and look stupid instead of deleting it. Thanks.

Your hands don't sweat when they're covered in chalk. Let's get with the program now.

Silly pretty-boy bodybuilders. ;)

so you don't think wearing a man thong, covered in tan cream, posing 86% nekiid in front of an audience full of screaming gaye males is a bit freaky???

Yes, Sawastea does like for Lestat to wear gloves.

Wrap the bar with a towel?? :rainbow: Women do that shit.lol! I squat over 550 with no padding. You just need to build up the traps so you have a shelf back there to rest the bar on.

LOL!

I just love the BB vs. PL competition, it adds fun to the game. I'm just surprised that the plethora of PL jokes haven't been unleashed yet. I'm very dissappointed.

to contribute to the weight lifting convo, I pulled 455 for an easy triple today

Or have a thick layer of fat over your traps like yer average PL and you won't feel it either.

I keed, I keed.

Umm... I said static holds, lol. Not shrugs or DL's. My best pin pull is 515 x 10 from below the knees, or 565 for a single from right below the knees.

Anyone that does lots of training with bands, chains, GM's and other lock-out training knows that a high-number LOCKOUT on an excersise isn't really impressive. I never accomplished my 495 full DL goal before I gave up heavy lifting, but I did take 1st in a comp, but it didn't mean anything to me. PR's are what really matter, not what anyone else thinks. It's all about bettering yourself; competing against yourself to be the best you can be.

Although I still love exchanging punches with BBers.

On facebook he's like 10 feet away from the camera and the pic quality sucks and even with that said you can see some size on him. Big ol' forearms.

I dislike only one thing about PLers, the fact that they use things like "bench shirts" (cheat shirts) and then say they can lift "X" amount of weight more than they could naturally but still call it natural.

Yeah, this is the same as my Facebook pic. It's a HUGE high-quality pic from my friends $750 digi camera, but I have nowhere to upload huge pics, even Yafro limits size.

I have lots of 'normal' camera pics, but they're at home in WI, along with my parent's scanner for which me to scan them with, lol. I have so many cool pics of my and my brolys wearing bullet belts and shit in the cemetary and what not, lol. I gotta scan those next time I go home. I love those pictures, they're funny as hell!

I use APT WRAPS they're fucking awesome for me on clean and press, bench, etc.

Re: gloves. Yeah gloves tend to be thought of as geigh. Even on women IMO. I have never used them. I admit, I do have callouses. I feel kinda self conscious about them at times.
Bri, that is an awesome pic of you though. I really like it. Looks like youre having fun LOL Ive never done cable crossovers.

Yeah I hate those pussy footballers for wearing pads and helmets, same with those fucking cheatin' track runners, wearing spiked shoes, fucking cheaters...I hate those cheatin' bb'ers as well, using drugs to get where they are...

When you start bp'ing 500 plus lbs, you might consider protecting yourself against pec tears.

A bench shirt assists the lifter by allowing him/her to lift anywhere from 50-100+ lbs over their natural lift. If they are tearing muscles because of hoe much they're lifting, they aren't conditioned properly.

a track runner's cleats help him get a better grip thus increasing his speed greatly...the only true way to not use equipment is to squat nakedd. plenty of seasoned weight trainers have torn pecs, even a few on this board...biteme for example (i believe)... i don't buy the conditioned prop.
I wear knee wraps when i sq, does that make me a cheater??

You're using the safety argument to validate a bench shirts use. Wraps are for safety, not to increase poundages (though it may slightly). That is wraps primary purpose.
A bench shirts primary purpose is to lift heavier weight and secondarily prevent injuries. That's the difference.

REAL powerlifting knee wraps will add well over 20 lbs to anyone's squat. They are used for increasing poundages, lol.

A helmet used in football is primarily for safety... yet they can still play longer, harder, rougher, etc due to it's benefits.

Pads, helmets, etc are all a part of the RULES of american football. It's how it's played. I say every pro FB player if a pussy if they need all that crap, but no one cares what I think, that's the way the sport is. Those are the official rules. Likewise with powerlifting. We're talking the RULES of the game, whether anyone else likes them or not, tough shit. It's how the game is played. Anyone who doesn't like it obviously doesn't play the game, ergo their opinion nullified. Those of us who play that game do everything possible within the confines of the rulebooks of our respective federations to get ahead of the next guy. This is how every goddamned sport in the world functions. In conclusion, european football >>>> american football.
