Roommate or not???

I'm officially back to empty nest status. This time my son is gone for the full year and won't be home to visit. I'm debating getting a roommate for mainly financial reasons.....have some extra money but I love my privacy and my space.

Any tips on roommates? Have you done it? What were the pros and cons?
 
This could be tons of future entertainment. Sign up the first creepy rapist mfer you see. Put an ad in paper, with a pic. SWF. Seeking $$$. Companionship. Loves cats. Etc.
 
lol so maybe the roomie thing is a bad idea. I spent the weekend in a hostel. Not a fan!
 
I have done it and considering doing it again. The last roommate I had was pretty good it was a guy pretty easy going and neat a bit of a pot head but that didn't bug me the worst thing we would fight about was toliet paper he'd buy the cheap stuff when it was his turn. LOL Also I found out some people are really anal about how you put the role on over or under that's a gas.

One of my GF's has a condo and she does air B&B with her extra bedroom. I like that idea still bringing in money but you don't need to put up with someone there 100% of the time.

Ive been living with my fellow roommate for 2 years, and its been great. Definitely I would consider what kind of roommate are you looking for. We are both guys, maybe a girl that is studying or something similar, since your son has, maybe, a date to come back.

Yes, my house has two master bedrooms with separate bathrooms. I'm not sure what I'd charge. I'd have a look at the going rates up here
 
Going rates up here for what I have are $700. You better be one hell of a mo for $250
 
Pink moron ... that's an entire apartment that is private. I'm assuming Cali is referring to a shared space - even though there are separate bathrooms.
