Romney caught on hidden cam saying messed up $hit

I hate to say it but those grants and a lot of other spending is why we are going so far into debt with Obama. That money everyone is getting from grants, etc. is tax money and we're jus giving it away. My son's mom is on a grant too so don't think I'm attacking you. It's just that we've gotten ourselves in too deep and Obama is trying to even UP spending after all this. "I sometimes forget the magnitude of this recession" - pres. Barrack Obama.

God shut up.

Huh? What world do you live in? My son is a full time civilian contractor and considers himself well paid, he makes $16.00/hr. (BTW, NOT working in the field he went to college for). What makes it "well paying" is he averages 20 hrs. of overtime every pay cycle. If he has a month or two without OT he starts running into problems. At least he has benefits, thank god.

Now my stepdaughter, the job she just got most recently, which is full time, her starting salary was $8.50/hr. (increased to $8.64 after six months, wooo hooo). She gets no benefits of any sort including no paid time off and there is no such thing as an opportunity for O/T. If it wasn't for Obama's healthcare she wouldn't have health insurance and I couldn't GET her on state medical assistance even when she was unemployed, the $170 a month she was collecting in unemployment made her overqualified.

What?

I thought he lived in Texas. I have a nephew making well above that, on the job for 6 months, and he barely graduated high school.

You want me to tell you what programs Republicons want to defund?
There is only so much spoon feeding I can do.
But seriously, even Republicans have to be honest and start from a point of reality.
Do Republicans want to defund government programs?
Yes.
Will that hurt middle and lower income people.
Yes.
I thought republicans took pride in that. Like Herman Cain likes to say:

"If your not rich, blame yourself."

I'm not kidding about google.
If you want to know more, read about:
-Who gets hurt if healthcare is defunded.
-What happens to seniors with Ryans medicare plan
-What happens to women if Repubs defund Planned Parenthood including STD testing, birth control pills, abortion, cancer screenings etc.
-What happens to college age kids when repubs defund student loan and grant programs..
-What happens to younger kids when repubs defund public schooling.

The list goes on.

The funny thing is, after they destroy America as we know it, the debt will be higher. All the money will be at the top, but they won't tax that money, and government spending on our biggest socialist program, the military, will go up.
That's the priority. You are a republican so don't ask me to explain it to you, be proud of it.

Sorry, I should have made it more clear that I wanted to know your opinions on what programs the repubs want to do away with. I could go to google and read the opinions of any number of people who cared to write about it. I don't have time. I just thought I'd ask you what you thought.

Also, I'm not a registered repub. Who told you I was?

See, you speak as such an expert on god damn near everything. digi comes in as a true expert on tax matters and gives his expert opinion on subjects and you will try to argue. What is it you do again? What's your field of expertise? Degree? Oh, right...everything. Never mind. Carry on.

it was approximately 45% in 2011...and there were a lot of rich people included in that number...here's how it worked...the maximum capital gain tax rate is 15%...however, for 2010 and 2011, if you were in the 15% bracket for regular/ordinary income tax, then the maximum capital gain tax rate dropped to 0%...rich people have lots of investments and qualifying dividends are also taxed at the capital gain tax rate...soooooo, rich people, for the last two years orchestrated their lives in such a fashion that they had little or no regular/ordinary income, so that all of their dividends and capital gains were taxed at 0%...thus, that statistic is more than just a little bit deceiving...and, for the record, i am a conservative (i.e., by imparting this information to you, i'm throwing my own peeps under the bus).

at least you and headholio appear to agree that there are no rich democrats.

I am sure there are, but I'd be willing to open it up to be proved otherwise.

Digi, you are being way too reasonable for a republican. Your suggestion is great, but repubs would just call it raising taxes and its automatically dead in the water regardless of how much sense it makes. And until the filibuster rules get changed, no one will pass shit on either side.

God knows there are absolutely no dems/libs that would be opposed to that plan though.

lolololoolololollollo

Well at the very least it sounds like Romney is owning his comments. I think something can be said for that.

Doesn't matter who wins anyways they are just puppets.

He who owns all the gold makes the rules.

Both parties suck, end of story!!! You guys argue back and fourth supporting your president or potential president when neither one of them actually care about any of us. we need to start having allegiance to the constitution, not a certain party.

so true, but I would expand that to say ALL parties/politicians suck and don't care about any of us. It's like a prerequisite to running for office.

Hey now, I've been on government assistance, but I certainly don't want to live in it. I had no job, no way to pay for food for my kids. I got food stamps for 3 months and took advantage of the job training programs to get my nurse aid certification. I work 5 days a week (12 hour shifts) and I'm still paycheck to paycheck, but I'm scraping by. I could work just my 40 hours a week and continue to collect food stamps, but I dont. My friend's mom works for the Denver housing authority. I got offered section 8 (government paid housing) I turned it down.

I know there are people who would rather have handouts, but I've met many women in my situation who choose to work hard. I work with several of them.

It's people like you who should be allowed to take advantage of those programs and keep taking advantage of them until you get to the point to where you don't need to anymore.

I am all for giving hand-ups instead of hand-outs. Going to school and need help paying bills and putting food on the table? Cool. But there should be a well laid out plan. Something with a start and end. Realistic goals. Nursing? Great. Get that RN and get a job, then get off assistance.

Wouldn't that also help the problem that head pointed out about making those bottom earners into higher earners so they CAN pay fed inc taxes?

If people take advantage of it? Kick them off. Make them get serious. Shit or get off the pot. Think of it as if it were your money (it is), and you were helping someone out. Would you pay for their food and rent if they kept skipping school?

the employer should pay them all. Then there would be more opportunities for the poor.

The more the employer has to pay, the less employees they will have. Or, the extra costs will be passed on to the consumer. Why can't people understand this?

quite the contrary! there are probably more wealthy democrats than republicans...and obama had a chance to let that rule sunset at the end of 2010, but he included it on the extender's bill...because obama likes rich people too (i said that above, if you read further)...i was only referring to the people that constructed the law in the first place.
