Quick question about baseball.

working the pitch count to their favor
to get "their" pitch
for the batter they want the pitch into the strike zone for solid contact
for the pitcher they want to deliver to the batter what it appears is "his" pitch
a pitcher wants to serve up to the batter what the batter thinks is hittable
while not doing so
but a pitcher must serve up enough hitable pitches or suffer a walk
throw into this the variety of "serves" a pitcher can offer

i.e.
a batter wants to work the count to better determine if the ensuing pitch is going to be in the strike zone
thus increases his chances of making contact

a pitcher wants to record swings with unfavorable results
this is best done by not serving up hittable pitches

a pitcher is content with an unswung at strike
he "fooled" the hitter

but in order to obtain such result
the pitched ball has to be in the strike zone

which is what the batter desires
