well i dunno if that was the case or maybe my form was just off... it just seems like 185 is a low number and my tri's weren't feeling it like they should yet i couldn't get the lift.
Well you know the drill man.....the better your form, the less you can lift. So it sounds like you were probably doing them correctly.
If you just started doing them, they can take some getting used to as they involve quite a bit of front delt work as well as the tris. Start a little lighter and go from there. They will get easier.
Its been my experience that a spotter is always needed on close-grip no matter what your rep-range, bc it is impossible to see the wall coming before you hit it, 7 easy reps, 8th one wont come off chest, and such
Personally I don't do close grip. I never felt they worked the triceps. Try reverse grip bench in a smith machine, they will work the triceps better then close grip. I don't do any "benching" on tricep day.
I do:
Tricep extentions with the easy curl bar
Nose-Breakers with the easy curl bar
Dumbell Kick-Backs
I get compliments on my triceps all the time! Now if I could develop my chest more.........I don't want to talk about my quads.
