Question about weight for comp

badgergrl said:
Thanks Sassy. I'll start doing extra cardio.
About the diet...I was thinking I would continue to carb cycle until the last week..so my carbs would stay the same as they have been. I've been upping my fats on the no carb days to make up for lost cals. I was planning on not doing that, and maybe upping the protein a bit? What do you think?

Adding in my two cents... Well although I am not dieting for competition or anything I am following a carb cycle that SAssy gave me and that is also what I do... on the days where I remove a carb from a meal I replace it with a fat that way my calories never dip too low :) And yes I also try to up the protein on those days especially if I have lifted... hope that helps.. sorry to interject I know I am still new to this all :mix:

If your bodyfat is still dropping even tho the scale isn't, I would stick to the recipe (not remove fats --- you still need those). You might consider cutting the overall cals some (just a little if at all) or the cardio will be the difference.
You could also do a more aggressive carb cycle -- deplete 2 days at zero carbs for ex instead of 1 day.

I'm just not a big fan of cutting your calories too far down for competition. Its hard enough preppng for a show anyway.

Yes, I agree about the low cals. I'm currently doing 3 days at 100g carbs, 2 days no carbs. Maybe I should change to just 2 days at 100g??

I know everyone says you need fat, but I've never been able to understand why really. I've been getting my good fat sources from anpb, which is what I was going to cut out. Do you think it would make a difference switching to like flax oil or something even though the fat g and cals are the same?

You've been very helpful Sassy. I'm probably making this too complicated. I guess I'm just stressing as I get closer to the comp date.....plus it's a no carb day. :)
You're probably right about not fucking up the recipe at this point. We'll see what the extra cardio does.

I was told that you need the fat to help food move through the body. I don't know if it would make a diff with the flax seed or not but that is what I sprinkle on my cereal in the morning if I don't have peanut butter.
