Que's Journey begins

Just an idea...but you could just measure out a daily serving of 1/2-3/4 cup dry oats and put them in a ziplock bag. They become portable then. Less additives/preservatives as Tre says and probably more economical too since you can re-use the same ziplock bags for oats.

I bought a large plastic container that I just sit on my counter with a 1/2-cup measuring cup in it and when I'm going out the night before & throw some oats into a small Tupperware (cheap ones I got at the Dollar store) and just stick it in my cooler for morning travel.....

Hey, Que! Dropping in to see how you are doing. Glad to read the dr. appt went better than anticipated. Positive vibes to you!

This may not sound too good but I measure my oats with protein powder the night before then when ready I add whatever liquid (either milk or water) to the shaker bottle, give it a good shakin' and drink it down. However, if you have access to micro (which I don't), it would be better cooked. Or you could measure out your oats into the little snak size ziploc baggies for the week. A little more effort but much better for you in the long run.

Ladies, the oatmeal advice is perfectly timed.

I had 1 packet left in the box and I ate it this morning. :lmao:

Looks like I'll be breaking out the regular oats tomorrow morning and I happen to have a crapload of the snack baggies too. ;)

Today was a wash for food as I didn't get to eat but once today and that was lunch.

"Someone* came home for the weekend w/o having any return plans made. The return train is sold out so one of the family friends volunteered to take her back to Chicago on Sunday because everyone else has to work.

We did talk a little and I hope that she understands that I do love her, I do want her to go to college, I do want to do my part financially but things just haven't happened the way I wanted them to nor have they happened in the time frame I wanted.

She, her dad & stepmom feel that I'm not doing enough in regard to getting a 2nd job. I don't want to work in a fast food place and they seem to think that I should take any job I can get. It's pretty sad to be told that you are overqualified for a weekend position in a doughnut factory. Overqualified my azz - bills are bills and they need to be paid and they don't really care where the money comes from.

waking temp: 96.3

M1
1/2 c reg oatmeal w/splenda
1/2 scoop vanilla soy protein powder
24 oz coffee

I have to tell you that regular oatmeal is gross. Even w/splenda it tastes nasty.

1/2 c is too much oatmeal so tomorrow I'll be trying 1/4 c oatmeal and see how that works.

H AH AHA

Add some spices... cinnamon... pumpkin spice, sugar free vanilla flavored coffee syrup. Really it's not that bad! It's one of those things that over time like when you stop drinking pop and everything tastes bleh... because it's not what you are used too... Same thing here. Just have to stick with it, you'll get to where you enjoy it!!

steel cut oats have a different taste and consistency - might be worth a shot! :)

Did you mix the protein powder into the oatmeal?? If so, I agree that IS gross!!
