whats a good shake for women? wife wants to sub a shake for breakfast and snack. shes 22 5'6" about 130 shes trying to eat healthier and loose a few pounds. she never eats breakfast has a small lunch and then dinner.
First of all, a protein shake is not going to help her. She's not eating enough, period! She needs to be eating 5-6 times a day and her calories need to be somewhere around 1430.
Have her read this and go from there. There is so much information in this thread that will be of help to her. Her diet needs to be right, or she'll never get anywhere.
right i agree with you and have tlaked to her about it......I thought throwing a shake in for breakfast and another midday meal would help her get into the groove of things ya know

There are numerous shakes she could go with. Isopure Zero Carb is a good one, Optimum Nutrition has a few good ones (I use the Pro Complex) - those are two of the best tasting ones, especially the ON.
I would stick with shakes that have lower carbs in them - somewhere under 20 grams. Some of them are a little (or a lot) too high in calories and carbs. Just make sure you look at the labels.
....and make sure she sees that thread I posted so she knows what kinds of foods she should be eating - as a guide.
EAS makes a ready to drink shake called Advant-edge. This shake is low carb (6g) and has 15 grams of whey protein and 100 calories. It is not something she would want to drink without eating something with it though. I drink one of these with an ounce of raw almonds and it makes for a great meal for those of us who eat 5 to 6 a day.
