I'll dito that... when I'm done emptying the bags into the containers it's project clean up, I always seem to make a mess w/ it.

But here's another added argument against it. I'm sure you can buy for example Optimum Nutrition whey for same price as Proteinfactory. And Optimum's protein will come w/ 4 kinds of protein in there, plus a big 5 pound jug, and not a bag. So now on second thought, proteinfactory seems pricey.

1. you get your stuff in a bag
2. other products offer same or more for same price
3. you can only order 5 pound/$5

yeah but on the other hand they don't give you a breakdown of protein ratios in optimum do they?

I'm not sure if this counts as a breakdown, but here ya go:

QuadPlex Protein Blend (Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate [From Ion Exchange and Cross Flow Microfiltration] {all three sources contain concentrations of beta-Lactoglobulin, alpha-Lactalbumin, Immunoglobulins, Glycomacropeptides, Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase, Other Closely Related Protein Molecules and Glutamine Peptides} Low Molecular Weight and Partially Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides)

This is just a fancy way of saying that the product contains mostly cheap whey protein concentrate, with some whey isolates added in. I HATE this type of ingredients listing, because it confuses the reader with a lot of unnecessary and misleading crap.

You're right Bill it does. And at first I thought it was the bomb protein. But my argument remains the same. You can get whey w/ isolates (how much nobody knows), in a tub (and not a bag), for same price if not less than Proteinfactory.

1.Many websites do not even charge shipping, some allow up to 10pounds/$5 versus proteinfactory's 5lbs/$5
2. PF will give you a bag and not a jug like others will
3. Taste of other proteins may be even better than PF.
4. Isolates and concentrates are sold at same price if not more than their competitors.
5. Dextrose and Maltodextrin is sold at 2.5X the cost found at most other shops.

I can go on and on. I still dont' get it. They don't pay advertising fees, they give it to you in a bag, and still charge about the same as others will. What's the deal?

Only thing worth a crap there to me is the fact that you can make your own protein mix like Bill does.

Protein is an extremely competitive market, with VERY tight margins. If you are getting a cheap protein, there is a reason for it. I don't price shop for something I am so reliant upon and put into my body daily, as I'd rather pay more for a protein I know is quality. That is why I like protein factory. If I order a mix of two quality, undenatured proteins like above, I know I am getting what I am paying for. I can tell you, a mix at PF is going to be a little cheaper than buying the same blend from me when it is released. If mine were significantly cheaper, you shouldn't buy it, because I'm ripping you off somewhere.

I agree with Bill. I prefer to pay a little more for an undenatured protein like micellar and cfm. What is the protein percentage in optimums blend? I was paying 26.00 for 1 1/2 lbs of cfm whey isolate from biochem. Now I pay 18.00 for 2 lbs. Thats alot better. Infact they were selling sold 5 lbs for 33.00 on special. Not bad. What is the % in optimums. There mix with isolates is less than pf's whey concentrate. That makes me think the concentrate was not so good to begin with. Adding isolates just brought it up to a good concentrate level. How much hydrolized? 1%? My post shake from them is better that anything I can find anywhere else. 35 to 40 % hydro 520, cfm whey and carbs. The bags aren't my favorite. I usually leave some in the bag in a box and just scoop out. Takes up the same amount of room as a box of mrp's. The concept of customizing is awsome but my only concern is that I am getting what I asked for. I know when I get hydro 520 in my post shake. You can taste it. But what if they put concentrate instead of isolate or caseinate instead of casein. I wonder how they are held accountable. Has anyone ever heard of anyone analyzing an order. Also and sorry so long but what about expiration dates. Did you get fresh or old stuff?

Yeah, these sort of ingredients lists are meant to confuse people, but whey concentrate vs. whey isolate or even whey hydrosylate is not going to make an appreciable difference in results--particularly if protein intake is high--so I don't see that it matters anyway. Unless, that is, one is particularly concerned about cholesterol, for example.

Though, it's hard to buy casein by itself--and casein is generally far superior to whey in most instances--so that's one thing the Protein Factory has going for it(Micellar is merely more expensive and it's quite dubious whether it confers any advantage, unless you consider a thinner wallet an advantage.)

Newbie answer--> I ordered whey isolate from them last wk, after reading about them on here, and seeing they were cheaper.

But, they dropped the ball when I called to place the order. Now I wonder if the order taker (it was during business hours) even was in the sport or took their products....didn't seem to have the specific info I requested, but did have the general answers. I asked about the Penta mix, gave him how I was going to use it and he said go with penta vs whey.... After I placed the order, and researched further and asked questions on here, I realized he sold me the wrong powder for my application!

.....Wonder why? Honest mistake, didn't have a clue and just said yes to my question, or the Penta was $4-$5 more per pound than the whey I called for initially?

I am definitly going to be reading this thread to see what you guys think

what about supplement direct's pure whey protein? 4$ a pound or 42$ for 11 pounds.. That seems like a pretty good deal.. and I can add my own dextrose. on top of that it comes in a bucket(except 11lb).. what do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure that supplement direct only offers "natural" flavor - which tastes like tissues.

the dextrose is a good deal though.
