Proper Routine for gaining mass

Madcow made an informative post the outher day saying that their is no best routine, you just have to find what works for you at a given time. Maybe give HST or 5x5 a try.

5x5 is an excellent program...old school, but works with a masters degree. ;)
 
periodized training marked by mini cycles of various training protocols. max effort phase/power phase, strength phase, hypertrophy phase, tempo phase. reps will vary from 1 to 3 in one phase to 8 to 15 in another. this way you are consistently changing routines as well as rep ranges which is the main point your body adapts to (adaptation happens within 3 weeks or so with reps).
