My (kind of) guardian angel suggested that I post the following that I wrote in an e-mail the other day. Just my feelings on how things are going diet-wise, comp. prep, what I'm achieving - you know, general positive stuff about this whole lifestyle I have become so committed to.

"even if I don't hit single digits for this comp., I have achieved a physical
transformation and body composition that I could never have dreamed
possible a few years ago. I look better than I have in my whole life, and
while it may, as yet, be nothing much from a BB POV, it sure as hell makes
me very happy. And better than that, I have achieved/gained the knowledge
and confidence of a level of control and certainty over/about my physical
being that I just never had. This is truly art - my entire
physical/intellectual/emotional/social being has integrated and focussed to
create one work which will always be in progress. The mind boggles. And
the possibilities just seem endless from here on out!"

The gains in confidence and sense of personal power I have found are almost disproportionate to the gains in the level of my actual physique. This is a Very Good Thing (:)), and not unrealistic, I don't think. Obviously my goal remains, within the next 7 weeks, to get as ripped as personally genetically possible whilst maintaining the bulk of the muscle I have built, and to kick hard booty on that stage, but damn I feel good about what I have achieved thus far.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. :)

Thanks ladies. It's really amazing, isn't it? - that we live in these bodies our whole lives, and the majority of people just know SO little about them, about how our physical beings work, and just aren't interested. I have learnt SOOOoo much from this site, people here, and from the reading I've done, and once you have that knowledge base, it's really quite straightforward, you can just build and build on it. Sure, there's TONS more to learn, but having a grasp on the basics, and seeing those first results come through - my oh my - nothing beats that feeling!

VDL - nice to see you around, you've been quiet lately - looking for a comp.?

Ann - I order my suit next week (after I pay this month's credit card bill :eek2: )

I think I'm going to go with plain black for the pre-judging and a turquoise or nice sea-blue (if possible) for the free posing round. I'll get it from bodybuilding.com, since I've ordered from there before. Haven't decided yet on the style - my butt is clinging to some fat ... full bottom may have to be an option.

How's yours? Do you just love looking at yourself in it? :)

I think you've embodied the true spirit of bodybuilding. I'm sure it applies to most other pursuits of excellence, but there's something about BB that makes that extra, ummmmm, empowering.
