my girlfriend works out 3-4 times a week but does not maintain strong muscle definition. She is thin but more so naturally thin and for as much as she works out she should have much more muscle definition. She takes nothing post workout and im wondering if this is keeping her from getting results from her workouts. So I guess my question is what do you girls use post workout not to gain weight obviously, but to cut up and gain muscle??

comon.....anyone? NOt sure if I should give her protein shakes cause it may give her some bulk. Any ladies use G-Plenish??

My gf never does unless I workout with her and give her shit. She agrees she feels better than to! She just never remembers.

Bump>>

Well, what does she do when she works out?

What does she eat - what's her diet?

Stats.

We need more info to go off of to help you out.

shes 5'9'' 130 decently low body fat. Shes big on cardio then does light high rep lifting on pretty much all body parts 3-4 times a week. She eats a high protein diet but does not follow any diet plan by any means. Looking for any ideas to help her maintain muscle but im not sure i should give her stuff I take

Drop the cardio, drop the high reps, lift heavy, keep the protein high, drink at least a gallon of water a day, watch her carb intake and have a moderate fat intake would help her more than anything. :)

Ditto

And post-workout, a protein shake is beneficial. GPlenish is good for recvoery too, but if she isn't big on protein drinks, GPlenish might be too strong for her. But you can always try it. :)

Daisy I love you :)

lol

ok it tastes Earthy, kinda like soil,

but all you need for a therapuetic dose is 2 - 3 big table spoons a day..........

and it works which is pretty usefull for what we are trying to do here :)

To have muscle definition, you've got to have muscle. High reps of light weights don't build muscle.

I'd also venture to guess she's not eating enough to support her training (probably the #1 reason women don't get the results they hope for). A post-workout meal is VERY important. Those tired muscles are literally screaming for some nutrients so they can repair and grow.

I have a meal replacement (protein and carbs) shake. The shake is convenient, easier to digest, and (very important post-workout) faster absorbing.

Lake - getting cut up and gaining musle are 2 different things - not easy to do at the same time.

to gain muscle - you need to up the calories, lift heavier, drop cardio

to lean down - drop the calories (a little), lft the same or not -:), up the cardio.

Post workout -> important, but not as much as the overall caloric intake.
