Pec tear/soreness help

I tore my pec about 4 months ago with the help of some of my own stupidtidy and bands.

Since then, every speed day after that my right pec (the one I tore (partially, I believe (no insurance)) hurts for about a week afterwards. I've tried the horse linement, active rest, massage, ice, etc. And just cant get it to fix itself. There is a significant amount of scar tissue.

I know irish offered me advice before regarding MRIs and such but I don't have the insurance/time/money to do that, nor did I ever. Should I just drop the speed day and do like 4 sets of 6 flat raw like JM Blakely suggests or what? I just want an opinion or two here. (Although I think the DE Bench is responsible for 90% of my bench press success).

Thanks.

Peace.

B/c it has healed enough that I can bench pain-free. It just hurts the days following bench press day.

Also, I have my technique down to where I barely even use the pecs while benching, but my form sometimes breaks and my tuck rolls out when speed benching.

Have you tried light, high rep dumbbell presses the day after?

Dont have much to offer other than that/except/ you only have one body on this go round, so take care of it the best you can.(Im finding this point quite obvious lately)

its hard to say what is causing your problems.

did you say you were sore in both pecs? not just the ripped ones.

i have been struggling with soreness after band work too. thanks to someone's wise email, i realized i was overutilizing the bands. maybe you should cycle speed w/bands in and out for awhile. make SURE you are really fast.

Here is a reality check. Westside's 550 benchers are typically using 185 - 205 w/1 doubled mini. Are you using too much raw weight?

Another thing you may want to consider for some of your ehavier work is throwing on a cut poly for some protection. its cheap. get the $40 from inzer. cut it down the back and neck and throw it on on your heavies. you should be able to get it on yourself.

good luck
