you can quote Stevie Nicks: "Dr. Atkins. A god among men." ( http://www.nicksfix.com/nyonline.htm ). I would not go that far, he is not the only one who has come to the conclusion that carbs are evil, there is for example Dr. Lutz, a German doc who publishes his book "living without bread" for 35 years now.
i am a mod on a german board (www.lowcarbforum.de) and i see firsthand how low-carb eating can transform people; i myself did the classic bodybuilding diet for years and all i got was fat in the offseason and skinny when dieting. now i never have to be hungry again, be strong as never before and can see my abs year round. and i have no injuries anymore. whenever i went low-fat, i did hurt myself, tendonitis in the elbows, the knees and shit like that. i am running atkins for 2 years now, i don't even warm up anymore; i attribute this to the high fat content of my diet; i also have power throughout the day; in the past when i ate a big meal at work i got tired afterwards, today i can eat all i want, as long it does not contain significant amounts of carbs, i can go on without interruption. its not for everyone, but for me, carbs are evil.
