My left knee felt better.....so I decided to try some more squats, but with very low weight so I would just work on form. I realised that the pain in my knee only starts when I am about 4-5" above parallel, but continues all the way to the box. What is this stressing, hips? glutes? I think I may have strained something a while ago in my low back and maybe that's causing this.

My knee hurts like a mother fucker today! It feels like my pelvis is now rotated, and I feel a pull from my low back all the way down across and under my knee. Even my front hip flexors are tight. This is weird and it sucks. I am staying away from all leg and hip exercises (even my beloved deadlifts) for 2 weeks, no matter what. Now I am gonna be one of those bastards that only trains upper body HEHE, my nightmare has come true. Good bye wheels, hello lightbulb physique :bawling:

Okay, so you hurt your back and then the pain is spreading down your leg. This is bad, this is a tell-tale sign of nerve damage caused by pressure in your lower back. Have you seen a doctor about this. I am the last person that would go to a doctor but that sounds serious. It really sounds like you messed up your back and it's putting pressure on the nerves that run down your leg. A question: Is your ankle getting weaker? These nerves control your ankle function and if your ankle starts to get weak that's real bad. I'm not trying to worry you, just trying to tell you what I know and what you should probably do. Good luck

Luckily my ankle feels fine. I think I may have strained my left erector. My low back hasn't been sore persay, it just feels "Off". Kind of tight thats all. Now my low back feels the same, but my left hip, glute, and ilialtbial band are really tight. I have been periodically stretching my glutes, hams, and band throughout the day. My knee pain is about 25% of what it was this morning, and the crunchy feeling behind the knee cap is gone.

Do you still think this is nerve damage? I am definitely taking some time off from everything that works the low back, glutes, hips, hamstrings, and quads. I just don't want to go to the doctor for anything else, I am already working with Sleep Apnea and Low Testosterone levels, I don't need to add anything else to the list. SHit, I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac!

Growin', I have gone through some of the same stuff you have -
low test level, messed up hip, etc. Go to the doctor. I did for
the hip and it was the best thing I did. The doubt was killing me.
Did not know if I blew out my back or what the problem was.

My doctor is my age, mid forties, and a very good distance guy
in the local running community. He understood what I was
going through. Found the problem and gave me exercises to
fix the problem.

Had I not gone to him. I would have been guessing about what
was wrong with me. I would have probably taken off time from
lower body work. Turns out I did not have to do that. My
doctor had me go lighter for a month. This along with the
specialized hip stuff, did the trick.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Geno_O, glad to hear you are better. I am only 25, but I feel like I'm about 80 right now LOL! I am feeling better already. I am taking this week off completely from weights, and only doing a little cardio. The wife is giving me massages every night, and the Ibuprofin is flowing. When I return to training next week, I will be doing much lighter weights with nigher volume, and NO legs or hips for another week or so. During that time, I think I might try and hit up a doctor. I am not very optimistic about the physicians around here, none of them seem to be athletically oriented in their practice, hence I turn to these boards.
