NYC Libs Approve 13 Story Mosque 500ft from Ground Zero [news item]

I wonder what sort of looks i would get as a white american in saudi arabia.

This is awful, I am not a religious person and dont have a defined religion, my father used to walk at that time at that place every day were the attack happened, luckily we moved back to CR, if my father had for some reason been there and died and Im in NYC paying my respects to where he died and there is a mosque or ANY religious building I would be FUCKING pissed, eventhough Im not religious I do NOT enter any kind of church, it is agains what I do... dont get me started on why, there shouldnt be a religion tied to the memorial/grounds it is very disrespectul, be it a mosque, a temple, church, anything like that has no place there....

you're kidding right?

America has a great relationship with saudia arabia

I was just kidding bro :)

Well, not really about the Westboro peeps. They are some of the lowest scum on the planet imo.

I do think building a mosque in that area is kinda poor taste though. I'm sure you could agree with that?

Yes I agree but that doesnt mean we should blow it up bro

With the folks in charge, yes. But thats mainly due to economic reasons and where Saudi Arabia happens to sit on a map.

If you subtract the oil from S.A. theres really no reason why we would want to have such a strong relationship with them.

if you subtract political power / financial power, there's no reason why anyone would want to have a strong relationship with the US either...it's all a game of money and power anyways

Im sure all of the western world would. Be all have common interests. France isnt exactly the richest or strongest country out there, but because we have common goals were still close as close can be.

We wouldnt want to be friends with Saudi Arabia because their lack of basic human rights is an abomination and pretty embarrassing.

too many IFs...fact remains, money controls everything...and governments want to befriend government with money...or common political aspirations

Yep. We take their oil, give them money, sell them useles weapons and take back that money. In exchange, we use guns to keep the royals in power and allow them to oppress, enforce slavery, remove human rights and keep in poverty most of the nation.

Then every now and then, a few saudi's figure out who is the puppet master behind their oppressors - and start taking flying lessons.
