Is it necessary to take a protein shake before going to bed if I'm taking gear? I know this would avoid catabolism. But I'm taking gear! Do I need it? And wouldn't the bodies metabolism just slow down during sleeping? Does it really need a shake?
take one before bed, if you're on gear, seems you'd want to maximize gains. Eat eat eat. Better yet, char up some flank steak, and eat a serving of flank steak w/ some cottage cheese or peanut butter before bed. Yum.
Yes, you should have a shake before bed to try and prevent any possible catabolism. This is not a knock Carth, but I'm glad to see your spending more time on the diet board. It amazes me how many people on the anabolic board know so little about diet. I use to be the same way, but I now spend most of my time on this board and have realized better gains without gear than I ever have in my life.
Bro! Look at my damn pics. I did this all THIS YEAR with very little gear use. It was all based on diet. Can't wait until I REALLY start hitting the roids again.
Your right, but don't our bodies just stop everything while we're sleeping? Wouldn't eating something and then go to sleep just convert that to fat? We're not moving, we're just there.....sleeping!

Again, that wasn't a knock. Your back and body look awesome from your avatar. Congrats. Our bodies still continue to burn caolories while we sleep... As long as you consume lean protein combined with fats and no carbs before going to bed, you should see nothing but beneficial gains. Bottom line is it will help prevent catabolism.
