newbie- tri/bi's together or separate

I've been wondering what to do to increase my guns... Is training bi's and tri's on the same day an option? .... isn't it better to train them separate so that you can really isolate each muscle group? If you train them together how would you split your routine?... Thanks for the replies ... you guys out here have been so much help.....:fro:
 
keranna basically i dont think the routine split will matter as much as just varying your split up, do them together for around 8-16 weeks then change your split up and do them separately. but for what exercises to do, start out with a mass bulider and do around 12 sets for each, working them once a week. i reccoment barbell curls for bicepts to start, then seated alternating dumbell curls finished off with concentration curls, 4 sets of each exercise. for triceps i reccoment 4 X tricep pressdown, 4 X lying french extensions, 4 X reverse grip pressdowns, or do skullcrushers somewhere in there if u want, as well as dips those are good exercises.

Exactly. Together or separate, one is not inherently better than the other, long as you hit both once a week. The key is to pick one, do that for 12-16 week, then change up.
 
thanks for the replies... Right now I'm training them separately... I think I will try them together and see what happens...:rolly: :fro:
 
I gained good size when I trained them together. Make sure you do ur tri's first when ya do them together.

There is no need to train the muscles apart. I mix them up whenever I train them together. I'll use an order like this.

4 Bi exercises
3 Tri exercises
