Newb log for Starting Strength

Today's workout went great. Again no trouble with any of the lifts. Actually they all got easier toward my last set of 5. I do have one concern however and would appreciate some advice. I was 227 lbs. when I started the program and in a little over 2 weeks I have put on 9 lbs. I know that this program is designed to add weight as well as strength. I have, I admit, made some adjustments to the program's nutritional aspects. I don't drink the gallon of milk a day and I do not eat at a caloric excess, as a matter of fact I eat about 300 calories below what maintenance is supposed to be for me. I understand that I will not see the strength gains that I would if I was eating like crazy but I don't want to put on all kinds of fat. I am still trying to lose weight (fat). I have not noticed my clothes fitting different but I do not look like I put on ANY more fat. I can't explain the 9 lbs. Eating below maintenance hasn't affected my lifts. I am adding my weight and the lifting is getting easier. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Below is my workout for today.
Squats
45 lbs. x 2 x 5
55lbs. x 1 x 5
85lbs. x 1 x 3
115lbs. x 1 x 2
165lbs x 3 x 5

Bench
45lbs. x 2 x 5
65lbs. x 1 x 5
90lbs. x 1 x 3
120lbs. x 1 x 2
145lbs. x 3 x 5

Deadlift
135lbs. x 2 x 5
155lbs. x 1 x 3
175lbs. x 1 x 2
215lbs. x 1 x 5

Oh, I almost forgot. I do 20 min of cardio on lifting days and 40 min on my off days. I know I shouldn't mess with Ripp's program but I refuse to get fat again.

looking good!

if you don't want to get fat, i would do HIIT 2-3 days a week when you're not lifting and increase your protein intake

Thanks bro! I was thinking of adding HIIT in on my off days. I must admit that the 9 lb increase has me freaked out a bit. I have gotten so used to watching the scales go the other way that seeing them go up is worrying the shiit out of me. I am going to give my diet an overhaul and add in that HIIT like you suggested. So far the lifting is getting easier. I know that this will not last long but I'm surprised that I'm lifting more weight now than when I started and its easier to lift. LOL.
