Hope this is the right place
I spell horribly online. Sorry.
Ok this is one I don't think happens daily. I am in my late 30s and currently weight 355lbs. I am a former college and high school football player as well as a college and professional rodeo competitor ( retired from both). I used to lift weights and really was interested in bodybuilding.
I started out overweight and loss lots of weight at 19. I as like 198 at the time from 240. I began weight training for football and saw progress eventually I got more into weight training than football. I lifted until I was 22 seriously and at my peak was 218 with 6-7% bodyfat. I could not get lower no matter how hard I tried and was drug free. I think I benched 350 at my peak it could have been 370, but it has been awhile.
Ahead to today. Well like I said I am late 30s pushing 40. I have low T and take clomid and arimidex to treat it. Most will ask why I am not taking gear. The reason is that my wife and I would like to have a child and have had a difficult time and she is actually 40 ( don't tell her though) and are getting fertility treatment. We have been told synthetic test will lower my various counts, which are fine for my age according to the doctors.
Anyway I know these mean I am not considered natural for body building purposes. I assume there is some benefit to being on these getting back into lifting weights. If I can find a doctor in my area after we have our family I am going to try to talk a doctor in to cypionate test at 200-400mg a week to treat it, but that might be a bit.
Right now I am not on a major diet like I used to do. I eat what I want within reason. I mostly cut out sugar and try to drink a couple protein shakes.
Right now I am doing a three day split with chest and back on day 1, legs on day 2 and arms and shoulders on day three. I was really into the HIT, Mentger, and Dorian yates. I figured I made a lot of mistakes starting out and overtrained. I got to the point where I was doing 6-8 total sets ( mostly to failure) per large bodypart and 4-6 sets for smaller bodyparts. It seemed to work and I really seemed to get stronger when I quit doing the same lifts everyday like when I started.
Now some have told me to train starting now the way I started then, but back then I did not know what I was doing, was lots younger, and was not on the stuff I am now.
As far as supplements go when I was in my first stint in bodybuilding in the late 90s Adro and nor-andro were the big thing and everyone took creatine and whey protein. Right now I am not using any supplements, but figure Glutamine and creatine might be a good idea. I do use muscle milk or syntha 6 and optimum whey protein. Recommendations on a place to get cheap supplements is also appreciated. I was previously a member of team Met-rx for my rodeo competitions, but apparently the company went downhill after Dr Conelly left.
ANy advice would be appreciated. I also might look into consultations depending on fees.
