Hi everyone I am new to this site and am looking for a little advice... I have just recently had a baby about 7 months ago and gained alot during the pregnancy.. I have been doing cardio for months now, 6 days a week for 45 mins. at 6 am before eating. I have lost a lot of weight this way but still have about 15 pounds to go. I am looking to begin weight training mostly to be healthier and stronger. My diet is good lots of lean protien and a little brown rice or whole wheat pasta and loads of veggies. I drink a gallon of water a day. Could someone suggest a good training routine for me to start with? I have gotten contradictory replys from trainers at the gym.. some saying I didn't need to weight train just continue with the cardio.. some all for the weight training.. Should my diet change?? I eat 6 time a day.. like I said lean.. Food isn't really a problem because I am a chef and can make anything.. So any advise woud be appreciated. Thank you and sorry so long...

Welcome! You've come to a great place that has all kinds of answers for you.

There is a button on the top of the forum labeled "search".

Look up "diet" and "training routine". You will get lots of hits, so just browse through them all until you find one that looks like you could stick to it.

Welcome!

Weight training is one of THE best things you can do for your body. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.

You've probably heard the old saying "muscle weighs more than fat..." which scares some people away from weight training (especially women).

Actually, a pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh the same. Muscle is DENSER, so it takes up less space. Muscle is also metabolically active, so it burns calories all the time, making it much easier to burn and keep fat off.

FF is right on, and welcome...Combining cardio and weight training, plus a good diet is the ultimate key to the physical goals you seek babe...ask away and learn from the finest ladies on the net, or anywhere for that matter.....

Peace,

Ranger
