New iphone question - can you recovered deleted text messages?

You can not retrieve old text messages from a back up. You're suppose to be able to but it doesn't work. When I upgraded to the 4s it only transferred my settings and apps but not my messages. If they're deleted they're lost for good bro.

It's worked for me. Not on purpose. I restored from back up for another reason and was pissed when I only had my old texts.

I phone 3 and 4 sims are very different in size.

OK, doing more of your research for you. The iphone 4 uses a microSIM card. If you have a card reader for a full sized SIM, you'd need an adaptor to put the micro into, but the card reader would still work.
