NEW all-time biggest Bench Press record set!

That's fantanstic. But what reall blows my bind is the few that Squat 1000+. Not taking away from Scot Mendelson's complistments of course.

Just for the record several lifters have Squated as much, but no on have come withing 100lbs of Deadlifting that weight.

Parden my ignorance but what is a lifting shirt? I have never heard of that before. How is it better than just a t-shirt?

Shit, at that rate, he may one day be able to bench 1000lb. And if that occurs, it won't matter for jack shit if he doesn't have the body of the top BBers like Arnold, Coleman, etc. That guy will be plastered over every single Bodybuilding magazine in existence.

I can honestly say after talking to Anthony, Bill K. and a few other of the world's strongest guys that no on will ever hit the 1000 lb. bench press mark.....at least not in our lifetimes.......

Why not? It's gone from 660 to 821 since the 80's. I can see it happening around 2030.

I don't know Dial....there has to be a sticking point........and 1000 lbs. just seems out of reach......shit there isn't anyone out there who can hit 900 with a non-clean lift......and I hope I'm right.....cause the further the record goes the less impressive my 595 in 98' seems.........:p

Spidey, a lifting shirt is usually made of a very thick material, in Scotts case it was a double denium shirt. It takes a couple people to help do the shirt up. Once you get used to a lifting shirt it can easily help you add 50lbs to your bench.
