Good Sleep Hygiene (Most Important):
1.. Get up early in the morning so that you're on the correct circadian rhythm.
2. Avoid taking naps during the day past 1 PM.
3. Keep the lights off at night so that you're brain creates the necessary chemicals for sleep.
4. Avoid stressful activity several hours before sleep (stressful activity makes your body pump out cortisol which will keep you awake).
5. Eat for Sleep: Starchy foods help by prompting the production of serotonin.
6. Sleep on a comfortable bed.
7. Keep a notepad near your bed so that you can write down everything on your mind that is keeping you from being able to fall asleep.

Amino Acid & Other Subtance Sleep Aids:
1. 5-HTP
2. L-Tryptophan (by RX only in the U.S.) always worked for me than al of a sudden a bad batch into the us and poof, gone
Prescription Sleep Aids:
1. Zolpidem (Ambien) --my doc said this stuff should be banned
2. Trazodone (Desyrel) -- Antidepressent which helps sleep worked for a while but really messed-up in the morning if you get less than 8 hours
3. Clonazepam (Klonopin) great for anxiety -related sleep problems
