Need help with my shoulder!

I really don't know what a doctor would be able to do for it...besides tell me to stop lifting.

So why are you asking for advice from us??? Get your ass to a sports doctor. They know a lot more than you think...jeez

I think dirtydawg has got it in one.It sounds like biceps tendon, I've got the same problem. Those stretches are the best exercises for it.
Also, on chest days , warm up with a few light sets of dumbell flyes(incline and flat) and stay clear of barbell bench press, for some reason this always fucks it.
I've seen a chiro for mine and it always fixes it within 1 to 2 weeks

if you really want to keep lifting through this, which it sounds like you're going to do anyways, go to a good sports doctor they generally can help you work around it...

a serious layoff would probably be the best answer though...

SHoulder Pain

Some people feel it might be the bicep, but I would bet money that it is your rotator cuff, specifically your anterior delt....

Save yourself from rambling. To this test. Take anything from 5-10 pounds and lift it at a 45 degree angle like a front raise. If it hurts, you have a shoulder problem, read on.......

I have the same problem from going heavy on shoulder presses. What I do is light presses and stretches for the first 3 sets.... I do 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 3. for each rep I do arnold presses, regular presses and ones with my palms facing in. and then superset with front and lateral raises. what this does it hit the delts from several angles and warms them up nice. Once I get heavy (relative to your strength) I do just regular presses..... After that I do just rotator cuff stuff. Internal and external with cables and one that I think might help you.. A 45 degree front raise. It used to be called dump the can. where you would lift the can and pour.... Just lift 45 and bring it back down. Hope this helps....

I think Drew hit the nail on the head.

Well, looks like I'm going to take a few weeks(or longer) off from training....FUCK! It's gonna kill me to take the lay off, but it has to be done. I can't go on like this with this shoulder pain. Hopefully with the layoff I'll be able to hit shoulders and chest hard again.

This sucks....

I have tore my rotator cuff before. Trying to throw up 100lb. dumbells for shoulders. Definately see a doctor! Also, to add to drews post a good way to tell is sitting in your car, reach over and try to roll down the passenger window with a straight arm. Major pain when I tried to do it. I got a couple cortizone shots from the doc and the pain went away in about 2 months. I still can no longer use a straight bar for bench. I only use dumbells and go much lighter. REST!
