Any other places?
thate, the link doesn't work...just redirects you to BigFitness.com's main page. I downloaded both catalogs and nothing is what I'm looking for.
I have the e-catalog from promaximamfg.com and it had the kind of equipment I'm looking for, I'm just trying to see who has the best prices or even quality used equipment.
I'm looking to build a home gym with the equipment I most want....
So, I'm looking for the following items....
- Power cage (don't know if narrow or deep is better....might spring the extra $$$ for the extra depth) -- Primary use....squats and deadlifts. A deeper unit might enable me to do most freeweight work there too.
- Std. Olympic bar
- Std. curl bar
- Shrug bar....I currently use heavy dumbells, but it'd be easier to use this with bar weights cost-wise.
- Lat pulldown and Lat Row machine (I'm looking at combined unit for space considerations...also tends to be cheaper)
- Protective floor mats (how much space I don't know yet...might need two mats)
- Adjustable bench (flat/incline use mostly). If it has a preacher curl attachment, it might be handy otherwise that's a seperate item I'll need.
- Chinup/dip stand....one that's designed to be stable so you can also use inversion boots.
- Weights....These might be the easiest to find. For my freeweight work (dumbells), I could try to track down used or just get the weights I use most.
The only things I'm not sure on that I might need covers these exercises....
1.
Leg curls....I can do 200-220 in the gym, so a wussie machine won't cut it. I don't know what freeweight alternative exists. I think I'll have no choice but to buy some type of specialized machine for this unless someone knows a great way to hit the hamstrings without a machine.
2.
Weighted crunches....I currently use an incline sit-up bench and put about 120lbs on my chest. I won't have the weights, so the incline bench might not be needed. Perhaps using inversion boots and doing crunches that way will give the same benefits....hmmm.
3.
Calves....the seated calf is what I must have now. I can't do standing calves without needing lot of weight and/or lots of reps. One of these don't cost much, but if there's a unit that gives you more than one use for the price, I'd prefer getting the best bang for my buck.
Of course, I'd need mirrors, but I'm sure there's places local that sell cheap mirrors.
Any helpful leads or tips gets Karma because I appreciate any help I can get.
