need advice about a girl.

guys and gals,,i need some advice here.

I like this girl, and she likes me. We have a definite connection here.

the problem is, she dated one of my best friends for about 6 months. they broke it off about 3 months ago. their relationship was never very close- they never really cared much for each other,,they were always fighting.

WTF do i do? she's a great girl, and i'd hate to see her get away. however, i dont wanna piss my friend off.

how long should i wait before making a move? or should i just not make a move at all?

thanks.

Dont make a move at all if you still want to be friends with your friend. I know because I've done it. Actually I just hooked up with his ex-gf once and we never really spoke again.

just ask your mate if he minds.. the worst he will say is no, but hes obviously not a good friend if he does say no. a saying: if im not rooting her id prefer one of my mates to root her than some other cunt i dont know..

bros before hoes...

if he is a really good friend, ask him first. If he is just a friend, tell him what you have in mind and then go ahead.

the thing is,,i have mentioned something about it to him,,and he acts like he doesnt care,,but i think that he really does.

i think i'll just leave it be for the time being...

let me tell you this story, maybe it will help.
I had a guy that I would have considered a "brother", we we're in college together, stayed friends afterward, very close. I moved in with him when I moved to Htown and were roommates. He had a GF that he was dating and we became good friends too. She was a really sweet person, very sexy, did all the right things for him etc. He on the other hand treated her like shit, asked me to lie for him when necessary, and I did, but all in all he was dating his ex-wife, seeing other girls, etc. She and I were really good friends and I told him that she was nice and he was being a typical ass to treat her that way. Eventually, they broke up.
She and I went to the same places and had made some of the same friends. I started seeing her out and running into her. We would always just dance, drink, whatever, but being that I liked her as a person, it was hard not to want things to progress. As time went on, we became more than casual friends and as things would have it, I fell in "really strong like" for her, and she me. We finally gave in to the inevitable, and got together. As kids say now days, "we hooked up". It had been at least 6 months since they had finally broken up, maybe a litle longer.
That night, I called him from the club we were at and told my roommate, buddy, friend, what I was doing and let him decide what or how he was going to handle it. My mind was already made up, she was worth whatever trouble there may be. He got mad, and we decided not to live together, which was fine, I moved into my own appartment and stayed with "my" GF as it was.
She was one of the best people that I have ever known, certainly one of if not the best GF's that I have ever had. Just a super relationship for over 2 years. I wasn't into getting married, she was, and that ended what was a beautiful thing. Shit happens....

Moral of this story: I'm still friends with my buddy, he calmed down after a few weeks and realized that he treated her like shit the whole time and she was making me really happy. So being a good friend as he was he was happy for me. If I had not taken the opportunity, I would have missed out on what I look back on as very good memories and that would be a shame to have missed. I made the right decision for me, and I think she would say the same.

simple, talk to your friend, tell him you really like her. If dating her would hurt this guy, then back off.
That is the mature approach.
