my shins kill! what can i do??

I know how you feel. I got them when I was training for a show. I never layed off cuz I couldn't. I would put on long socks and put ice in a baggie and put them in my socks and ice my shins. I would rub them with the ice also. Don't keep it on too long. 5 minutes tops twice a day if you can.

Don't run or walk. Give them time to heal.
 
I first got shin splints a few years back which really messed up my exercise routine, anyways..... What really helped my pain cool down was - take a paper cup fill it with water freeze it over night then peel back the cup as it melts while you rub it up & down your shin! Try it ... tell me how it works for you!

shins seem to be fine. it defineately seemed as though it was shin splints..so ill see how this week goes. Im gonna try shake up my cardio to try and avoid them. Will keep you posted..
