I feel for ya. My 4 1/2 month old mini daschund swallowed a penny last tuesday. Had to have it surgically removed that night! One the bright side, he is ok and we got him neutered at the same time. That'll teach him...eat a penny, lose your balls! On the down side he has a huge scar and dented my wallet big time!

LOL! Not to laugh at your situation, but my boy is also having his nuts removed... once the vet determines he's ok. I'm hoping it'll kind of help teach him a lesson as well.

It is probably the bloat (when the stomach turns).It is very common in bigger dogs.

He's not a large breed. Schipperkes are a small/medium sized dog. Full size, he'll be 35lbs and about 18" tall.

I am happy to hear that, because there is noting that will fix the bloat and they usually die in a few days after.

News from the vet after the x-ray is nothing seems to be caught anywhere and his innerds look intact. They're going to keep him for a few more hours and if nothing changes they'll keep him over night. He's calmed down, thanks to the tranq, but still whimpering in his sleep. I'm stopping by the vet's office to snuggle with him on my way home. No lifting tonight.
